Steffanie is currently on her eighth year of teaching in the public school system. This school year marks her second year at Ashland Independent Schools, serving as the band director at Ashland Middle School and assistant band director at Paul G. Blazer High School. Prior to Ashland, Steffanie served as the band and choir director at McKell Middle School in South Shore, Kentucky.
Steffanie holds a Bachelor of Music Education from Morehead State University (2017). As part of District 8 of the Kentucky Music Educators Association [KMEA], she has held the following positions: Technology Chair (2023-2025), Middle School Band Chair (2021-2023).
Steffanie is a two-time Kentucky Department of Education/Valvoline Teacher Achievement Award winner (2021, 2022), and the KMEA District 8 Middle School Teacher of the Year (2019, 2021).
Steffanie’s ensembles consistently receive distinguished ratings at state concert band assessments and solo/ensemble festivals, with students achieving top or principal chairs in state/district honor bands.
